Dr. Teha Cooks is an Associate Director for the Center of Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE) at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, Florida campus. Dr. Cooks provides support to faculty through competitive teaching and learning grants, faculty development programs, awareness workshops, and individual consultations. CTLE promotes effective teaching strategies, educational technology, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. Dr. Cooks joined CTLE at ERAU - Daytona Beach campus in August 2021. She taught science in middle and high school for 14 years in Texas. She earned a Master of Science in Multidisciplinary Science and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction (STEM education) from Texas Tech University. She was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army as a cadet in the Howard University Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. Dr. Cooks is passionate about mentoring others, helping veterans, and participating in STEM related and other community service activities for youth, senior citizens, and educators.
